Doomoolmori, the AI Fintech startup based in Seoul, announced on 13th July that it has applied for a patent for its AI-Goal Based Investing (GBI) technology.

Until now, digital investment services such as robo-advisors which use model portfolios have not been able to provide fully-customized investment solutions for each individual. But, this technology, for the first time, can provide a hyper-personalized investment service that proposes and manages optimized individual portfolios according to the goals of each individual and account.

The AI technology’s main feature is real-time goal optimization. Just like how AI-based navigation checks routes and traffic conditions in real-time to continuously suggest the optimal route, it detects real-time financial market changes after the start of investment and continues to suggest optimal asset allocation to achieve the target rate of return.

This AI technology provides an optimized asset allocation portfolio that maximizes the probability of achieving an investor’s target return by reflecting each investor’s goals and risk propensity.

Doomoolmori’s research team conducted hundreds of thousands of tests to commercialize this technology, and the results showed that it can improve the probability of achieving the target rate of return by more than 20% compared to regular model portfolio methods.

Especially, if a long-term investment of 5 years or longer is carried out, the probability of achieving the target rate of return is improved by an average of 30% or more compared to the existing model portfolio methods. Therefore, it is expected to be highly useful in long-term investment accounts such as retirement pensions.

The Doomoolmori Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, which developed this technology, previously developed algorithms for funds and ELS (Equity Linked Securities) recommendations. The institute has registered two patents and has been selected for several government R&D projects, including the Startup Growth Technology Development Project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Doomoolmori plans to launch this technology as an engine named Path Finder in the domestic as well as global markets simultaneously, and is already in discussion with partners of various domestic and foreign financial institutions.
